Dig a little deeper into the Word with Pastor Petie.

Sunday, March 12 2023

Once, God spoke to an Australian pastor and said,
“You’re believing Me for only the tithe of what I want
to give you.” He was surprised because he had
thousand-dollar faith. When I arrived at his place to
preach ,the Lord told me to raise $10,000. For him. He
had a campground and men available to build on it,                                                                                                                                                                                    but the had no materials for doing the building. God
wanted to give him $10,000., and his faith had been for
$1,000.
I believe that most of us are in this same condition. WE
have limited God by our limited vision. Let your FAITH
be a growing FAITH, an ever expanding FAITH.
There is nothing wrong in believing for groceries,
gas bill, but you must set your sights higher. You must
begin to believe God for nations and peoples. . . . If you
spend all your time praying for the necessities of life,
you will never have enough FAITH to reach out to
hurting and suffering people around the world. Lift
your sights, and let God increase your FAITH.
We must believe God for television programs and
missionary outreaches, so please don’t spend all your
time praying fo the mundane things of life. And how
can you get away from that isolation? Begin praying
for others, trusting God that as you concern yourself
for them, He will take care of you.
Pray for your church and your pastor. Pray for
the ministers of America. Pray for the churches of the
world. If you’ll get this increased vision, you’ll never
again have to worry about the light bill, the grocery bill,
and the car payment. Your FAITH will have risen to a
new height in God and will be producing much more
than you need for yourself.

Short Story by Smith Wigglesworth
In Switzerland in a house meeting Smith and his
friends prayed for people and had seen their healings
manifested. After they left the house someone told him
a blind man was there and heard everything that was
said, but he was not prayed for. The man said he
would not leave the house until he was prayed for.                                                                                                                                                                                     He was born blind. Smith thought that was unique and he
turned around and went back to the house.
Smith anointed him, then laid hands on his eyes,
prayed for him, and immediately God gave this man his
sight.
The man counted all the lights in the room, then
took his watch out of his pocket that had raised hands
on it so he could tell the time. Now he only had to look
at it. The ecstatic pleasure that man experienced
because he had received his eyesight!
Smith and the others with joy, wept and danced
and shouted. Then the man realized he had never seen
his mother or father. He ran out of the house to go
home. That night the man was the first one back to the
house meeting. Everyone knew him as the “blind
man.” He shared his story of his sight.
Beloved, I wonder how much you want to take
away today. You could not carry it if it were an actual
substance. BUT THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE
GRACE AND THE POWER AND THE BLESSINGS OF GOD
THAT CAN CARRIED, NO MATTER HOW BIG THEY ARE!
OH, WHAT A SAVIOR! What a place we are in by grace,
that He may come in and commune with us.
HE is willing to say to every heart, “peace be still”
(Mark 4:39), and to every weak body, “be strong.”
Are you going halfway, or are you going right
to the end? Do not be deceived today by Satan,
but BELIEVE GOD.

SMITH WIGGLESWORTH On the HOLY SPIRIT
Written by Smith Wigglesworth

Chapter 16. “The Best with Improvement”
Let the Spirit cover you today so that you may be
intensely earnest about the deep things of God.                                                                                                                                                                                        You should be so in the order of the Spirit that
you may know this: that your will, your mind,
and your heart may be so centered in God that
He may lift you into the pavilion of splendor
where you hear His voice —-lift you to the place
where the breath of the Almighty can send you
to pray and send you to preach, the Spirit of the
Lord being upon you.
ASK GOD FOR WISDOM
James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom let him
ask of God who gives to all liberally and without
reproach and it will be given to him.”
…by the power of the Spirit, I can stimulate
you until you dare to believe and rest on the
authority of God’s Word. The Spirit of the living
God quickens you, and I see that “faith comes by
hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom.
10:17)
…God wants to promote us. He wants us to get
away from our own thoughts and our own
foolishness, and get to a definite place, believing
that He exists and that “He is a rewarder of those
who diligently seek Him” (Heb. 11:6)

Don’t Put Out The Spirit’s Fire!
Quench not the Spirit. — I Thessalonians 5:19
*Don’t ignore Holy Spirit’s leading!
*Don’t disregard His voice!
*Don’t close you ears when He is speaking to you!
*Don’t pass up an opportunity for Holy Spirit to use you!
*Don’t avoid moments when God wants to pour His power
through you!
*Don’t throw water on the flames until you quench the
Spirit!
It’s time to say “Yes, Lord, I’ll do what You say. I’ll go where
You send me. I’ll obey what You tell me to do!”

compassed out: peikeimenai = completely encircled by
something stacked high on every side
THE BIBLE is piled high with examples of people—-
people just like you—-who stood in faith and endured
difficulties in order to do the will of God. . . If you look
closely, you’ll see that there are huge numbers of these
“never-give-up” kind of people living on this earth right
now as well. You are not alone in your walk of faith!                                                                                                                                                                     Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about
with so great a cloud of witnesses

WORD WORKS: Christ Born of Mary. Matthew 1: 18-25
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His
mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came
together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not
wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put
her away secretly.20 But while he thought about these things,                                                                                                                                                         behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,
“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary
you wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Spirit.
21 “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His
name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”
22. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
23 “Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and
they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated,
“God with us.”
24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel
of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her
firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.
JESUS came as a son of man. He was a great example of
man building a relationship with God. Believing God to
bring to pass all that He said He would do through JESUS.
MAN NEEDS THE GOSPEL. Romans 10:9-13. 9 that if you
confess with your mouth the LORD JESUS and believe in
your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will
be saved. 10. For with the heart one believes to
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to
salvation. 11. For the Scripture says, “ Whoever believes on
Him will not be put to shame.” 12. For there is no
distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same LORD                                                                                                                                                                          over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13. For “whoever
calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

WORD WORKS: MERRY- Greek, euthumeo, compound of
eu and thumos. EU DESCRIBES A GOOD FEELING, THE
WORD EUPHORIC COMES FROM THAT. It could describe
someone who is elated, thrilled, or ecstatic about
something. The word THUMOS DESCRIBES the idea of
swelling emotions or a strong and growing passion about
something. Put these two words together and they are
powerful. The new word expresses the idea of a person
who is just about to explode with joy!

So much excitement inside that he can hardly contain himself, and can no longer
restrain the happiness he feels!
JAMES 5:13 “…IS THERE ANYONE AMONG YOU WHO IS SO
EXCITED THAT HE CAN HARDLY CONTAIN IT AND WHO FEELS AS
IF HE IS ABOUT TO BURST WITH JOY? IF THAT PERSON IS SO
OVERJOYED AND TICKLED THAT HE CAN NO LONGER RESTRAIN
THE HAPPINESS HE FEELS, LET HIM SING THE SONG HE FEELS IN
HIS HEART.”
That is a moment that should not be passed over. Let
your heart be glad and rejoice. Great are those
moments when your spirit is filled with God’s Presence.
That’s why James says when you are filled with that
kind of overflowing joy, “…Is any merry? Let him sing
psalms. Let your emotions loose when are overjoyed at
something God has done for you. Go ahead and
express yourself. Don’t be concerned if other people
are around you. It healthy for you to let your joy out.
We all have had experiences like that. Take the time to
reflect back when you were overtaken with incredible
joy that you needed to express yourself in some way.
Such as singing, take off running to release the joy, or
start hugging the people around you, even crying,
because your heart was so touched by the event.

Don’t let your rejoicing depend on the others around
you. Jesus will be happy to celebrate with you! So shout it
out, sing it out, smile it out, run it out, happy cry it out.
Just don’t miss the opportunity to release a joyfulsound.

ENVY, Greek - phthonos A hostile feeling
toward someone because that person has something - an
advantage, a benefit, a position - that the other does not posses
but would like to have.
* JEALOUSY, Strong's Greek: 2206. ζηλόω (zéloó) -- to be
jealous

https://bibleapps.com › greek
From zelos; to have warmth of feeling for or against --
affect, covet (earnestly), (have) desire, (move with)
envy, be jealous over, (be) zealous(-ly affect).
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like. . .
Because the chief priest were envious of Jesus they felt
threatened and insecure of Jesus’ popularity. Pilot knew
that their insecurity was driving them to have Jesus
charged with a criminal offense. They wanted to remove
Jesus so that the publicity that had been focused on Him
would shift back to the priesthood.
Mark 15:10 For He (Pilot) was aware that the chief priests
had delivered Him (Jesus) up because of envy.
II Timothy 3:4 Paul said that this kind of hedonism
(behavior) would be a prevalent problem in the last days.
“lovers of pleasure”
If you let your flesh lead you, it will steal from you the good
things that Jesus has set before you. Jesus has set many
things in front of us to do that are productive and edifying.

WORD WORKS: THE PEACEABLE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Renner Ministries teaching

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but
grievous; nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of
righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
HEBREW 12:11
If you are going to be mightly used by God, your flesh must
be disciplined so it can become an instrument through                                                                                                                                                                          which the Holy Spirit can flow. You have to pay the price of
crucifying the flesh in order to have the resurrection power
of Jesus Christ expressed through your life.
CHASTENING” GREEK, paideia = instruction for the
education or instruction of a child. This also includes adults.
In Luke 23:16 & 22 the verb form of the word paideia is
translated as the word “chastise” and refers to Jesus being
whipped or scourged as punishment.
Hebrew 12:11 refers to disciplinary attitudes and action
that lead to one’s betterment in life or to ones education.
So when this verse speaks of “chastening” in
Hebrews 12:11, it refers to disciplinary attitudes and
actions that lead to one’e betterment in life or to one’s
education. The word “grievous” is the word lupe, the Greek word
for pain, distress, trouble, grief, or sorrow.
Although the discipline itself is good for us and
provides us with the means to change, the flesh hates it
when discipline is forced on it!
Hebrew 12:11 says that this discipline will yield “…the
peaceable fruits of righteousness unto them which are
exercised thereby.” The word “exercised” is the Greek
word gumnadzo. This word depicts radical discipline! It
was the word the ancient Greeks used to portray the
athletes who exercised, trained, and prepared for
competition in the often barbaric athletic games of the
ancient world. It is where we get the word gymnasium.
In order to have progress, you will be required to do
more than you’ve been doing. You will have to say no to                                                                                                                                                                          your flesh, denying it’s appetites and disciplining yourself
to do what God says, even if your flesh doesn’t want to do
it. Let Holy Spirit exercise His discipline in your life.

Para Theou para means along side of, and it depicts
a very close, side-by-side, intimate position next to
someone else. The word theou. Is the Greek word for
GOD. These two words together in this verse, pictures
a person who comes right along side of God,

who comes as close to God as possible, who stands
side-by-side with Him.
JAMES 1:5 Actually tells us in the Greek Tense
God actually commands us to come to Him when we
need wisdom. The word indicates God wants us to be
firm and resolute when we request wisdom from HIm.
But there is a condition, “If any of you lack wisdom, let
him ask of God…”
That condition is found in the phrase, “of God.”
In this statement, God’s requirement of us before He
will give us the wisdom we need. If we want wisdom,
we must come right alongside of God in order to obtain
it. God wants a relationship with us. He doesn’t want
to just freely hand out answers to our problems. He
wants us to come to Him where He can love us and
fellowship with us and where we can feel and
experience His love. He wants us to spend time with
Him. The moment we get side-by-side with God He
opens His hand and reveals everything we need to
know and understand about the situations we are
facing.
